Incheon Secures Record 6.4 Trillion Won in National Funding for Next Year


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it has secured 6.4735 trillion won in national government subsidies for next year’s budget.

This marks an increase of 603.8 billion won from this year’s secured amount of 5.8697 trillion won and represents the largest amount ever, ushering in the city’s first 6 trillion won era in national funding.

Major projects funded include 309.5 billion won for the GTX-B high-speed rail project and 140.5 billion won for the extension of Seoul Subway Line 7 to Cheongna. 





Incheon Appoints 12th Citizen Audit Advisors


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it held the appointment ceremony for the 12th group of Citizen Audit Advisors on December 5 at the city hall auditorium to promote transparent and fair municipal governance.

The 54 appointees were selected through an open recruitment process in October and are composed of citizens with professional qualifications and field experience across 12 areas, including audit and legal affairs, civil engineering and construction, and health and welfare.

During the ceremony, the advisors reviewed and pledged an integrity oath and reaffirmed their commitment to monitoring municipal administration fairly from the citizens’ perspective.





Incheon Launches 7th Seasonal Fine Dust Management Program


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it will implement the 7th Seasonal Fine Dust Management Program, aiming to reduce the average concentration of ultrafine dust to 22.5 μg/m³, a decrease of 1 μg/m³ compared to the previous phase.

Through March next year, the city will enforce strengthened emission-reduction measures beyond normal levels.

The city plans to implement high-intensity measures across multiple sectors, with protecting public health set as its top priority.






Incheon Opens Detour Pathway to Sorae Marsh Ecological Park


A new detour pathway leading to the Sorae Marsh Ecological Park has been completed, enabling residents to access the park more conveniently.

Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it has opened the newly built route connecting LH Humansia Complex 12 in Seochang 2-gu to the park.

The pathway is a wooden deck road measuring 169 meters in length and 2.5 meters in width, built at a cost of 2 billion won.






Incheon Metropolitan Council Discusses Practical Support Measures for Early-Stage Single-Parent Families


The Culture and Welfare Committee of the Incheon Metropolitan Council held a policy discussion forum to explore systematic support measures for early-stage single-parent families.

The discussion was organized following the revision of the Incheon Metropolitan City Ordinance on Support for Single-Parent Families, which newly mandates the establishment and implementation of support programs for early-stage single-parent families, proposed by Committee Chair Yoo Kyung-hee. And the event was designed to closely assess the realities faced by these families and to explore practical and effective support measures.

During the forum, participants engaged in in-depth discussions on concrete support strategies for early-stage single-parent families.





Incheon Office of Education to Launch December Career Exploration Programs for Students and Parents


The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education announced that it will operate customized December career exploration programs for students and parents from December 9 to 23 through the online video platform of the Incheon Cyber Career Education Center.

The programs will be offered in two tracks: “Career Exploration: Designing Your Dreams” for students and “Career Exploration: Designing Your Child’s Dreams” for parents.

The student-focused programs are designed to help students use the winter break as a growth opportunity and will cover grade-specific topics, including: Winter vacation planning and Making Friends with AI for elementary school students, Korean language study and reading strategies and Building learning and career readiness for middle school students, and Analysis of the 2027 College Entrance System for prospective high school seniors.
