Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority Achieves Remarkable Results in Demonstration Program with Incheon United
The Incheon Free Economic Zone Authority (IFEZA) announced that the “TRYOUT Public Demonstration Program,” a startup verification support program of Incheon Startup Park, has been successfully completed.
Incheon Startup Park and Incheon United signed an MOU in March 2023 for the “discovery and nurturing of innovative startups for building a smart football club,” and this year marks the third year of the program.
Both companies selected through fierce competition will have their technologies and services adopted by Incheon United, and the outcomes will be applied across the club’s operations starting in 2026.

Incheon City announced that it held the “Award Ceremony for Contributions to Expanding Renewable Energy Supply and Citizen-Participation Renewable Energy Expansion Roundtable” yesterday (8th).
The event was attended by city officials and various stakeholders, reaffirming the importance of expanding renewable energy distribution.

Incheon City Wins Grand Prize in Child Policy Implementation Plan Evaluation
Incheon City achieved outstanding results in the child policy evaluation hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, earning the title of “Five-Crown Winner” and solidifying its status as a “city ideal for raising children.”
The city was selected as the top-performing local government in the evaluation of “Child Policy Implementation Plan Performance” and was also recognized as an excellent local government in the “Child Policy Impact Assessment,” proving its leadership in the field.
The awards were presented yesterday (8th) at the “13th Children’s Rights Forum,” where Incheon City also presented its “excellent child policy implementation case,” promoting itself nationwide as a city where children can grow happily.
Incheon Ganghwa to Begin Construction of Replacement Passenger Ship for Hari–Seogeom Route, Targeting Launch Next December
Ganghwa-gun in Incheon announced that construction of a new passenger vessel to replace the “Ganghwa Ferry,” which operates between Hari in Samsan-myeon and Seogeomdo and Mibeopdo, will begin in earnest next month.
The new 180-ton-class vessel will be larger than the current 69-ton vessel, increasing passenger capacity from 54 to 100 and expanding the ship’s width to allow vehicles to turn around on board.
Based on the operation analysis and passenger demand survey, Ganghwa requested the construction of a replacement vessel from the Incheon Regional Office of Oceans and Fisheries, which completed the detailed design last month and is currently conducting the bidding process.
Incheon Port Authority Wins Grand Prize at Innovation Expo
The Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced that its dedicated charging station project for electric yard tractors has received the Grand Prize at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ “2025 Port Logistics Industry Innovation Expo.”
IPA was recognized for installing 14 chargers for electric yard tractors at the Incheon New Port Sun Kwang Terminal last September, the first installation of its kind in Korea.
The authority expects that this achievement will help facilitate the smooth installation of charging infrastructure at other ports in the future.
Five Resident Companies at Incheon Jung-gu’s ‘Youth Office’ Achieve ₩200 Million in Revenue This Year
Incheon Jung-gu announced that five startup companies located in its “Youth Office” reached 200 million in total sales this year.
The Youth Office is a startup space created by Jung-gu in August last year at Naerimaru Cultural Shelter in Sinpo-dong, allowing young entrepreneurs with limited startup foundations to begin their businesses without heavy initial costs.
This year, the district provided office space of 22.8㎡ at a monthly rent of 68,000 won and supported startup capacity-building education for these youth companies.
Incheon Yeonsu-gu Reduces Food Waste by 19.9% – Receives Minister’s Commendation
Yeonsu-gu in Incheon received a Minister’s Commendation in the “2025 Local Government Performance Evaluation for Food Waste Management” hosted by the Ministry of Climate and Environment.
Yeonsu-gu reduced food waste generation to 28,725 tons, a 19.95% decrease from the target volume of 35,884 tons set last year, and was recognized for its strong policy execution and systematic management capabilities.
The district previously became the first in Incheon to widely distribute food waste RFID meters in apartment complexes in 2012 and has been replacing outdated equipment since 2022.
