Incheon City becomes the nation’s first to innovate emergency care with ‘iMap’ and ‘iNet’
Incheon Metropolitan City said it held the “2025 Emergency Medical Meeting” today with officials from district public health centers, the Fire Headquarters, and medical institutions.
This meeting was prepared to improve the reliability and efficiency of Incheon’s emergency medical system and to strengthen cooperation among institutions.
The ‘iMap’ introduced at the meeting analyzes improper patient transfers and acceptance cases, visualizes them with geographic information and transfer flow to help objective understanding, and uses accumulated data to predict hospitals that can accept patients. It is expected to greatly help reduce improper cases in a practical way.
Incheon City warns citizens about winter norovirus food poisoning
The Incheon Institute of Health and Environment said it is asking citizens to take special care to prevent norovirus food poisoning, which occurs mainly in winter.
Norovirus is a pathogen that becomes more active in low temperatures, and unlike summer bacterial food poisoning, it occurs mainly from winter to the following spring.
It spreads by eating contaminated food or through contact with infected people. After a 1–2 day incubation period, symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and fever appear.
Cheongna Lake Library to hold year-end family musical ‘The Christmas Gift Has Disappeared’
Cheongna Lake Library, a branch of Incheon Metropolitan City Library, said it will hold a special year-end performance for families titled “The Christmas Gift Has Disappeared” on December 22.
The performance is an interactive family musical that tells the adventure of Santa and Rudolph as they search for missing gifts, and it is designed for both children and adults to enjoy together.
The musical will be held in the multipurpose auditorium on the 2nd floor of Cheongna Lake Library, and registration is available on the library’s website.
Incheon Culture & Arts Center brightens the world with the sound of hope
The Incheon Culture & Arts Center’s , which offers a special afternoon every third Wednesday of the month, will present its last stage of the year on December 17 at 2 p.m.
Started in 2008, the is a matinee concert held at 2 p.m. on the third Wednesday each month, and it has welcomed about 93,000 audience members so far, creating a new culture of “daytime performances.”
In December, the center will invite the percussion group Tago, which is invited to stages around the world, to present the true spirit of Korea’s “K-Drum.”
Incheon City Holds “2025 Carbon Neutral Climate Citizen Community Achievement Sharing Event”
Incheon City announced that it held the “2025 Carbon Neutral Climate Citizen Community Achievement Sharing Event” at Incheon City Hall on December 9, encouraging communities and contributors who led carbon-neutral lifestyle practices during the year.
The event was prepared to continue the spread of a citizen-led carbon-neutral culture through presentations of outstanding cases and the screening of achievement videos.
During the event, excellent practices from climate citizen communities were introduced, and the youth supporters team “Greeny” of the Incheon Carbon Neutral Research and Support Center also shared their activities, highlighting the importance of intergenerational awareness improvement and solidarity in action.
Incheon City Strengthens Public Safety by Systematically Improving Aging Sewer Pipelines
Incheon City announced that it is continuously promoting a comprehensive improvement project to secure the structural safety of aging sewer pipelines that are more than 20 years old.
Based on the results of the “Aging Sewer Pipeline Precision Inspection” conducted from 2019 to 2025, the city will repair 81.2 km of vulnerable sections with structural defects step by step until 2029.
Through this project, Incheon plans to prevent urban ground collapse (sinkholes), reduce flooding risks during heavy rainfall, and strengthen residential safety by eliminating factors that threaten citizen safety in advance.
New Waste Incineration Resource Circulation Center in Songdo to Be Completed by 2030
Incheon City announced that it plans to complete its new waste incineration facility (Resource Circulation Center) in Songdo International City by 2030.
The city has completed administrative procedures this year, including public building planning review and approval of the shared property management plan, and is currently consulting with the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the adjustment of the total project cost.
The consultations include discussing additional budgets for improving odor control at the waste receiving area and securing construction safety.
Incheon Jawoldo Begins Pilot Operation of PAV and Drone Flight Test Site
Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP), an organization under Incheon City, announced that it has built a “PAV (Personal Air Vehicle) and Drone Flight Test Site” on Jawoldo in Ongjin-gun and began pilot operation last month.
The test site was established to support companies conducting flight demonstrations and product commercialization for future aviation mobility, including PAVs, drones, and urban air mobility (UAM).
The site is equipped with flight monitoring, control systems, surrounding weather observation systems, and aircraft charging equipment.
