Incheon City Imposes 121.4 Billion in Regular Motor Vehicle Tax for December 2025


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it has imposed regular motor vehicle tax for December 2025 on about 720,000 cases, totaling 121.4 billion.

The regular motor vehicle tax amount slightly increased compared to the previous year and has effectively remained at a similar level.

This December motor vehicle tax is imposed on owners of vehicles registered in Incheon City as of December 1, including construction machinery such as dump trucks and concrete mixer trucks.





Incheon City Expands Acoustic Traffic Signals for Pedestrian Safety of the Visually Impaired


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it has completed installation and maintenance work for acoustic traffic signals for the visually impaired in 2025, creating a safer and more convenient pedestrian environment for citizens.

Acoustic traffic signals for the visually impaired are essential devices that help visually impaired pedestrians clearly recognize crosswalk signal status through sound.

Incheon City has worked closely with organizations related to the visually impaired and nearby facilities such as schools, conducted demand surveys considering individual movement routes, and actively reflected various public requests through phone calls and the National Petition System, steadily expanding the installation of acoustic traffic signals.

 




 

Incheon City Conducts Research to Proactively Respond to Future Water Quality Risks


The Clear Water Research Institute under the Incheon Metropolitan City Waterworks Authority announced that it held the “2025 Research Task Council Meeting” on the 12th, sharing research achievements from this year and presenting research directions for next year.

This year, the institute promoted various studies aimed at securing scientific safety throughout the entire water treatment process, systematically analyzing harmful factors across all stages from tap water production to supply.

In particular, it focused on research to reduce disinfection by-products, establish control standards for microplastics and small organisms in water treatment processes, and develop an AI-based leakage monitoring model, strengthening operational stability of water treatment plants and water quality prediction capabilities.






Incheon City Women’s Welfare Center Recruits Students for the First Term of 2026 Social Education Courses


The Incheon Metropolitan City Women’s Welfare Center announced that it will begin recruiting students for the “First Term Social Education Courses for 2026” starting December 19.

The courses will run from January 5 to March 21, 2026, offering 91 courses and recruiting a total of 1,669 participants across programs such as professional talent development, practical entrepreneurship skills, culture-health-humanities courses, and short-term special lectures.

In particular, this term introduces new courses reflecting learners’ needs and the center’s specialized fields, including Sewing Machine Master (Beginner), Brunch (Salad, Pasta), Korean Folk Painting (Basic), Live Caricature, and Beginner Japanese Conversation, covering hands-on skills, hobbies, and foreign language learning.





 

Dong-gu, Incheon to Recruit Students for the 1st Term of Dong-gu Women’s Center Courses in 2026


Dong-gu, Incheon announced that it will recruit students for the “2026 First-Term Dong-gu Women’s Center Courses,” which will operate as a three-month program starting January 2, 2026.

The first-term regular course program consists of a total of 26 courses, including certification programs such as interior design that have received positive feedback for leading to qualifications and employment, as well as cooking and craft programs including urban sketching and folk painting.

Applications are open to Incheon residents on a first-come, first-served basis through the Women’s Center website, while those experiencing difficulties with online applications or using Dong-gu Love Gift Certificates or lifelong education vouchers may apply in person at the Women’s Center.





 

Gyeyang-gu, Incheon Receives Mayor’s Commendation for Contributions to Renewable Energy Expansion


Gyeyang-gu, Incheon Metropolitan City received the Incheon Mayor’s Commendation for “Contributions to the Expansion of Renewable Energy” in 2025 in recognition of its efforts toward renewable energy expansion and carbon neutrality.

The commendation is awarded by Incheon City to institutions with outstanding performance in promoting renewable energy, and Gyeyang-gu received high evaluations for building the foundation for RE100 implementation, continuously promoting renewable energy convergence support projects, and expanding renewable energy in educational facilities through neighborhood energy-saving stations.

A district official stated, “We will continue to promote policies to expand renewable energy and achieve carbon neutrality.”
