Incheon to replace all city buses with electric and hydrogen vehicles by 2033
Incheon Metropolitan City announced plans to replace all city buses operating under the semi-public system with electric and hydrogen-powered vehicles by 2033.
The move will phase out buses fueled by compressed natural gas, as part of efforts to improve fiscal efficiency and align with the government’s carbon neutrality policy.
The city also plans to expand bus convenience facilities and strengthen its monitoring program, with the goal of increasing annual ridership from around 260 million passengers to 300 million by 2030.
Incheon to secure 33,500 parking spaces by 2026 as part of all-out effort to ease shortages
Incheon Metropolitan City announced it will secure a total of 33,500 parking spaces by 2026, combining new parking supply with shared parking initiatives. The plan is part of the city’s broader project to address chronic parking shortages in older downtown areas.
While Incheon’s overall parking supply rate stood at 108.1 percent as of 2024, availability in older districts excluding apartment complexes remained at 48.5 percent.
The city aims to raise that figure to 80 percent by 2030 through a phased project to secure a total of 200,000 parking spaces.
Incheon to prepare transport measures ahead of the launch of Yeongjong-gu and Geomdan-gu next July
Incheon Metropolitan City announced a comprehensive set of transportation measures ahead of an administrative reorganization scheduled for July 1 next year.
Under the reorganization, Jung-gu and Dong-gu will be reshaped into Yeongjong-gu and Jemulpo-gu, while Seo-gu will be divided into Geomdan-gu and Seohae-gu.
In line with the planned opening of the Third Incheon Bridge in January, the city will deploy 16 additional buses and introduce two new routes serving Yeongjong-gu.

The assessment covered 161 public environmental facilities across the country, using on-site inspections and multi-stage reviews.

The Incheon City Council announced it has secured 50 million won in next year’s budget to respond to widespread outbreaks of lovebugs across the city.
The decision follows a surge in public complaints during the past summer.

The Korea Ocean Business Corporation announced the opening of a digital maritime exhibition space on the second floor of the Incheon National Maritime Museum.
Named D-OCEAN, the exhibition combines digital technology with maritime content to offer visitors an immersive experience.
Officials expect the new exhibition to attract more than one million visitors annually.
