(News) Incheon City Secures 1.4 Billion Won in Special Subsidies to Accelerate New District Establishment Project

Incheon Metropolitan City announced that Seo-gu has secured 1.4 billion won in special subsidies from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for the second half of 2025. The funding will support infrastructure development related to the administrative restructuring model that aims to launch new districts in Incheon on July 1, 2026, including the establishment of a temporary district office.

Since significant financial resources are required to prepare essential infrastructure—such as temporary administrative facilities and information and communication systems—for the launch of new autonomous districts, Incheon City has worked closely with local districts to ensure stable funding.

Starting with this funding achievement, Incheon City and its districts plan to further strengthen cooperation with the central government and local political circles to ensure thorough preparation for the new districts’ establishment.

(News) Incheon City to Restructure Metropolitan Road Network

Incheon Metropolitan City announced today (22nd) that it will restructure and officially announce its metropolitan road network system to reflect national-level development plans, including those for Songdo and Cheongna Free Economic Zones, the Gyeyang Technovalley development project, expressway construction initiatives, and major traffic congestion improvement projects.

Through this restructuring, the number of metropolitan road routes will expand from 68 routes totaling 891 kilometers to 76 routes totaling 931 kilometers.

This adjustment aims to improve duplicated or disconnected segments within the current network and address unreasonable route layouts. It also reflects road usage conditions on existing public routes, establishing a more systematic metropolitan road network and improving road management efficiency.
