Incheon’s i-Pass Is Selected as an Excellent Policy in National Sustainable Transport Evaluation


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that its public transportation fare support program, the Incheon i-Pass, has been selected as an excellent policy in the 2025 Sustainable Transport City Best Practices Competition hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

The Sustainable Transport City Evaluation is conducted annually under the Sustainable Transport and Logistics Development Act. It assesses environmental, social, and economic performance in the transportation sector across 71 local governments with populations of over 100,000.

The Incheon i-Pass was highly praised for promoting public transportation use and delivering tangible benefits for citizens, regardless of evaluation group classification.





Incheon Designates Its First “Local Heritage” Sites to Preserve Living History


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it has designated its first group of Incheon Local Heritage sites to systematically preserve community assets shaped by citizens’ lives and memories, and to pass them on to future generations.

The newly designated heritage includes 17 items such as the Bupyeong Baedari Secondhand Bookstore Alley, Boundary Stairs of General Foreign Settlement, Sinpo International Market, jajangmyeon, and Incheon Art Platform.

Sites reflecting the city’s port-opening history, everyday life, and industrial and urban transformation were included, earning strong public resonance.





Incheon Received “Excellent” Rating for Post-Management of Livestock Products in School Meals


Incheon Metropolitan City announced that it received an excellent evaluation following a joint post-management inspection of livestock products supplied to school meal programs in 2025.

The inspection was conducted in cooperation with the Seoul Branch of the Korea Institute for Animal Products Quality Evaluation and the Incheon Metropolitan Office of Education to ensure food safety in school meals.

Six livestock suppliers and six schools were inspected through surprise on-site checks and product sampling tests. All suppliers scored over 90 points, confirming a consistently high level of hygiene and management.





Children Are Invited to Explore Prehistoric Life at Geomdan Prehistory Museum During Winter Break


The Incheon Metropolitan City Geomdan Prehistory Museum announced that it will offer winter break education programs from January 6 to 16, 2026.

The programs, titled A Time Travel to Prehistoric Times and Our Neighborhood Archaeologist, are free of charge and open to children from pre-elementary age through sixth grade.

Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis through the Incheon City Integrated Reservation System, with the first round opening at 10 a.m. on December 29, 2025, and the second round at 10 a.m. on January 5, 2026.






Only hikers with flashlights allowed to enter Mani Mountain on Ganghwado for New Year’s sunrise


To prepare for large crowds expected on New Year’s Day, access to Mani Mountain on Ganghwado in Incheon will be restricted to hikers carrying flashlights.

Ganghwa-gun in Incheon Metropolitan City announced that from 6 a.m. on January 1, only visitors with flashlights will be allowed to enter the mountain, in order to prevent safety accidents before sunrise.

Entry hours at three access points—including the ticket office, Jeongusa Temple, and Hamheodongcheon—will be from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the summit altar, Chamseongdan, will be fully open.




Incheon Office of Education establishes clear standards for integrity in administration


The Incheon Metropolitan City Office of Education has introduced a new code of conduct to strengthen integrity in education administration.

The guidelines focus on clarifying basic standards of integrity that both managers and staff must observe in the course of their work.
