(News) Four-Lane Road to Be Built as Ganghwa-do Route Upgraded to Metropolitan Road

A four-lane road will be constructed across Ganghwa-do, connecting Oepo-ri and Sinjeong-ri from east to west, following the designation of the route as a metropolitan city road.

While National Route 48 currently serves as the island’s primary east–west corridor, it runs along the northern part of the island, prompting long-standing calls for an additional cross-island route.

Ganghwa-gun explained that the new designation will allow the island to secure an additional east–west road and establish a connected road network linked to the planned Gyeyang–Ganghwa Expressway.
