IPA Plant Salt-tolerant Plant Seeds At Sorae Wetlands

The Incheon Port Authority (IPA) has planted halophyte seeds at Sorae Wetland Ecological Park in Namdong-gu, Incheon. The initiative is in efforts to restore the tidal flat ecosystem. Halophytes are plants that grow in saline soils such as coastal areas and absorb carbon up to 50 times faster than terrestrial plants. The IPA expects cooperation among local institutions in Incheon will help raise awareness of the ecological value of the Sorae Wetlands, while monitoring by Incheon National University will verify the ecosystem restoration process.
