Pianist Han Ji-ho will perform Immortal Lovers at 2 p.m. on June 17 at the Incheon Culture & Arts Center. The program explores moments when famous composers fell in love and how those emotions inspired some of classical music’s most enduring masterpieces, combining live performances with insightful commentary. Incheon Museum Lecture to Revisit the Tragedy of King Danjong
Professor Shin Byung-joo of Konkuk University’s Department of History will deliver the third lecture of Incheon Metropolitan City Museum’s 28th Museum Academy spring humanities series on May 28. Under the theme, “Questions Left From The King’s Warden,” the lecture will examine the Gyeyu Coup and the tragic life of King Danjong, one of the most significant political episodes of the early Joseon Dynasty, while exploring broader themes of power, humanity, and historical choice. The session will also revisit the era of King Danjong and King Sejo as depicted in popular cultural works, including films such as The King’s Warden and The Face Reader.
Environment Day Celebration to be Held at Incheon Grand Park on June 5

Centered on this year’s World Environment Day theme, “Climate Action,” the event aims to raise awareness about the urgency of addressing the climate crisis while introducing practical ways citizens can participate in carbon-neutral lifestyles. The city plans to use the event to promote everyday climate-friendly practices, including the use of reusable products, proper waste separation, and participation in carbon-neutral incentive programs, while building public support for its vision of a carbon-neutral future city.
Incheon Conducts Joint Safety Inspections for Summer Power Outage Prevention
The Incheon Metropolitan Government is conducting joint safety inspections of apartment complexes that are aged 20 years or older with 100 units or more to help prevent summer power outages and improve public safety. The inspections will take place from April through July. Over the past four years, the city has inspected 239 apartment complexes and carried out detailed safety assessments at 29 sites identified as requiring special attention. Based on inspection results, Incheon plans to connect apartment complexes with support programs offered by the Korea Electric Power Corporation to replace or repair aging electrical equipment, including transformers and power distribution systems.
Incheon Steps Up Preparations Ahead of Record Cruise Ship Arrivals
The Incheon Metropolitan Government has conducted a joint on-site inspection at the Incheon International Cruise Terminal in Yeonsu-gu to improve convenience for international cruise passengers. The latest inspection was aimed at enhancing the travel experience of overseas visitors in order to strengthen Incheon’s reputation as a global tourism destination. Incheon expects a record 127 cruise ship calls and approximately 200,000 cruise passengers this year. To prepare for the surge in visitors, officials have introduced cruise-specific traffic management measures and are operating a joint inspection team to prevent congestion around the terminal during peak arrival periods.
Nutrition Teachers Satisfied With Incheon’s School Rice Supply Program
Incheon’s school meal rice supply program, launched in 2022, has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from school nutrition teachers. With the program’s satisfaction levels approaching 94 percent, it has firmly established itself as a “local food mutual growth model.” According to a survey of nutrition teachers at 553 participating schools, 93.9 percent of respondents said they were either “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with the program overall. Unlike previous subsidy-based approaches, the city directly selects and supplies high-quality eco-friendly rice to schools, a strategy that officials say has helped establish the program as a successful local food partnership model.
