Incheon Urges Residents to Comply With Housing Lease Reporting Deadline

The Incheon Metropolitan Government is reminding residents to report housing lease agreements within 30 days of signing, following the end of a grace period and the full enforcement of penalties for noncompliance beginning June 1 of last year. The Housing Lease Contract Reporting System, introduced on June 1, 2021, aims to improve transparency in the rental market and strengthen protections for tenants. Lease contracts with deposits exceeding 60 million won or monthly rent above 300,000 won are subject to reporting requirements. The regulation applies not only to residential buildings such as apartments and detached houses but also to quasi-residential properties actually used for residential purposes such as officetels and gosiwon rooms.

Incheon Establishes Emergency Rescue System for Abused Horses

The Incheon Metropolitan Government, in cooperation with the Korea Racing Authority and Incheon Riding Park, has established an emergency rescue and protection system for horses that are at risk of being abused or neglected. While the city already operates rescue and protection programs for abused and abandoned animals under the Animal Protection Act, existing systems have largely focused on smaller animals such as dogs and cats, leaving gaps in specialized protection facilities or response personnel when situations of abuse or abandonment involving larger animals, such as horses, occur. Under the new framework, the Korea Racing Authority will dispatch equine specialists and provide financial support for rescue operations, while Incheon Riding Park in Namdong-gu will offer temporary shelter facilities. Incheon residents who encounter suspected cases of horse abuse or abandonment are encouraged to report them to local animal welfare offices or the Horse Protection Monitoring Center, jointly operated by the Korea Racing Authority and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

The performances are free of charge and require no reservations, allowing passersby to join and enjoy the events at their convenience. City officials expect the series to provide cultural enrichment for residents while bringing renewed vitality to the local arts community.

Incheon Records Lowest Fine Dust Levels Since Introduction of Seasonal Management Program

The average concentration of ultrafine dust in Incheon recorded 23.5 micrograms per cubic meter, the lowest level since the implementation of a seasonal fine dust management plan. Incheon Metropolitan City announced that the low ultrafine dust level is the result of the “7th Particulate Matter Management Plan,” which was implemented from December 1 of last year to March 31 of this year, and a decrease of 27 percent from the average 32.2 micrograms recorded during the same period in 2018 before the policy was implemented.
