Incheon Art Platform Launches Citizen Participation Workshops
Incheon Art Platform, operated by the Incheon Foundation for Arts and Culture, has announced that it will begin a series of citizen participation workshops in July as part of this year's Creative Studio Project.
The 2026 Creative Studio Project, introduced for the first time this year, brings together eight teams of artists from the fields of visual arts, performing arts, and interdisciplinary arts to develop community-based projects through collaboration with local residents.
The project outcomes will be presented throughout November. From July through October, the eight participating artist teams will hold a total of 24 workshops, incorporating feedback and interactions with local residents into their creative process.
The workshops will also give participants an opportunity to join artists in exploring and researching the local community while taking part directly in the creative process.
Incheon Launches Community-Based End-of-Life Integrated Care Support Project
The Incheon Metropolitan City Public Agency for Social Service has signed a business agreement with participating organizations to officially launch a community-based integrated end-of-life care service.
The initiative is part of a Ministry of Health and Welfare public contest program and focuses on helping communities work together to support home-based end-of-life care and dying at home.
The Incheon Public Agency for Social Service will oversee the project, with Gyeyang-gu, the Incheon Peace Medical Welfare Social Cooperative, the Incheon Gyeyang Self-Sufficiency Center, Cheongsol Care Social Cooperative, and the Green Tree Incheon Psychological Counseling Center participating as consortium partners.
Fire fighters' Daily Donations Help 141 Households
A fundraising campaign launched by firefighters at the Incheon Fire Service Headquarters has raised more than 1.6 billion won.
First launched in August 2019, participants donated 119 won per day to help support victims of accidents.
Over the past seven years, more than 4,500 people have participated in the campaign, including around 2,300 firefighters and the remaining supporters from the general public to collect a total of 1.6047 billion won.
The initiative was proposed by firefighters who regularly respond to emergency scenes. While each participant contributes only 119 won a day, or about 3,570 won – roughly the cost of a cup of coffee per month, the donations have grown into a substantial fund over seven years.
So far, 664.13 million won has been used to support 141 households affected by various accidents.
Incheon Seeks Companies for Pilot Youth Work Experience SSE Program
Incheon Metropolitan City is recruiting companies to participate in a pilot work experience program designed to strengthen local social solidarity economy organizations while providing meaningful job experience for unemployed young people.
The recruitment is intended to match participating companies with 59 young job seekers in the Incheon area who will be selected at a later stage.
Companies will be chosen first, followed by the recruitment and placement of participants.
The city will review applications and conduct eligibility screenings before selecting the final list of participating businesses.
Each selected organization will be assigned up to four youth interns, depending on its size and the quality of its job training plan.
Incheon Saves Electricity Costs Through Data-Driven Water Treatment Plant
The Gongchon Water Treatment Plant under the Incheon Waterworks Headquarters has shared the results of a year-long operation of its pump efficiency monitoring system during a performance review meeting held on July 8.
The facility has been using the system to analyze the operating conditions of water pumps in real time and optimize operations through data-driven management, improving overall efficiency.
The improvements extended beyond pump performance, resulting in lower peak electricity demand, enhanced equipment efficiency through internal pump coating, the establishment of a data-based operational management system, and strengthened staff training and operational expertise.
